SONOMA, Calif. (July 13, 2022) —La Prenda Wines is pleased to announce two upcoming Cartoon Classes with New Yorker cartoonist Hilary Campbell! Join Hilary at the La Prenda Tasting Room on Thursday, July 21 at 6:30 p.m. or Thursday, August 25 at 6:30 p.m. Cost is $50, which includes supplies and a glass of La Prenda wine. Hilary Fitzgerald Campbell is a New Yorker cartoonist, author, actor and filmmaker. His first memoirs book of murder is nominated as Best Non-Fiction Mystery Novel at this year’s Bouchercon World Mystery Convention. She has illustrated critically acclaimed books such as feminist fight club and Are you my Uber? and his second memoirs, The pleasure of snacking will be released in bookstores in 2023 (Andrews McMeel Publishing). Campbell’s Documentary Shorts This is not the end and Banalities won awards at the best festivals in the country, before becoming Vimeo Staff Picks. While Hilary resides in New York with her dog and an extensive collection of Law and order dvds, she is a Sonoma born artist, who is very happy to return home to share the world of comics.

Hilary will also be hosting a comic book and zinemaking class from Monday, August 1 through Friday, August 5 at the Sonoma Community Center. Learn how to create comics and find your voice from New York cartoonist Hilary Campbell! This week-long camp will explore the importance of self-expression through comics and cartoons. Students will have the opportunity to learn the basics of comics (from single panel to long form), how to find your humor through writing, and ultimately create their first zine. During the spring and summer months, two variations of wine slushies will be available in the tasting room.
