Fans vote Ollie Wines as Round 16 MG MVP

PORT ADELAIDE fans voted Ollie Wines the best away player in his side’s narrow Round 16 loss to Fremantle.

The midfield bull collected a record number of eliminations (39), as well as six scoring appearances and five clearances.

Wines was dominant on the pitch and showed genuine desperation for the ball in key moments – finishing the game with 17 contested possessions, the most of anyone on the ground.

For the second time this season, he collects the maximum of five votes, placing him in fifth place in the MG MVP rankings.

Second in the fan vote was live midfielder/forward Connor Rozee, whose strong outing saw him collect 21 eliminations, 11 contested possessions and five scoring appearances.

Although he spent most of his time at center, Rozee also managed to find the big sticks – scoring a goal apiece in the third and fourth quarters.

Rozee’s rise to form is reflected in the fan rankings, where he now sits within striking distance of second place.

Rounding out the votes this week, Charlie Dixon (3rd), Sam Powell Pepper (4e) and Mitch Georgiades (5e).

The Power are now focused on their must-win clash against the Giants at Adelaide Oval this Saturday night.
